George E. Marron III, Attorney

George E. Marron III is a well-respected and highly experienced attorney who has practiced law in the metro-east since 1981. Prior to opening his own law firm in Highland in 2010, George Marron III was a partner with the law firm of Knapp, Ohl, Green & Marron in Edwardsville, Illinois (2009) and a partner with the law firm of Johannes & Marron, P.C. in Highland, Illinois (1981-2008).

George attended St. Louis University and received his Bachelor’s Degree (magna cum laude) in 1977, his Master of Business Administration (Finance) in 1981, and his Juris Doctorate in 1981.  During college, he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and the Alpha Sigma Nu Academic Honor Society.  He is also a graduate of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. 

George E. Marron III is admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois.  In addition, he has been admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.  In 2006, George was appointed by the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) to be a member of the Oversight Committee (2006-2014) and the Hearing Board (2006-2017).  He is currently on the Review Board (2017-Present) after being appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court.  He is a member of the Madison County Bar Association (serving as Secretary 1993-1994, Vice President 1997-1998, and President 1998-1999), the Illinois State Bar Association, the Bar Association of the Central and Southern Federal Districts of Illinois, Bankruptcy Association of Southern Illinois, and Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.

George lives in Highland and is involved in various community organizations.  He is the Chairman of the Telecommunications Board for the City of Highland and a member of the Mater Dei High School Foundation Board.  In the past, he has served as President and on the Board of Directors for the Highland Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Directors for the Highland Area Community Foundation, and the Board of Directors for the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation.

Outside of work, George enjoys playing golf and pickleball; attending SLU Basketball games, in which he has been a season ticket holder for over 30 years (Go Billikens!); and spending time with family and friends.

Phyllis M. Marron, Legal Assistant & Office Manager

Phyllis Marron has worked with attorney George Marron since 1988. She received an Associate Degree in the Legal Assistant program from St. Louis Community College at Meramec in 1994 and successfully completed the Certified Legal Assistant Examination in 1995.  She received an Associate Degree in the Computer Information Systems program from Southwestern Illinois College in 2001.
